Students would create a wiki for the class about the American Revolution. All students would contribute information that they have learned and researched and it would be used as a class resource and database.
Each student would individually keep a blog for the unit. In their blog, students would write, imagining life during the American Revolution. Every student of the class would come up with a question that they had about the revolution and thee questions would be drawn at random, weekly, and students would have to reflect and respond to one. Ex: What were some of the food sources used during this time?
The students would use Kidlink to communicate with people across the nation about the native settlers in their state. Teachers across the country can connect and share ideas. As a class, the students will create a drama representing life in their state during the American Revolution. Students will share these videos online.
Students will from this lesson gain a deeper understanding of the American Revolution as they are not just reading about it- instead the are becoming a part of the history and the schools and teachers are bringing it alive for the students.
